How to be Beautiful

To my Secret Garden friends,

Dedicated especially to all the girls out there...

Being girls, most of the time we are more self-conscious, being more sensitive, and sometimes can be over worried. We are constantly worry and troubled by many little things in life. Sometimes, we are so busy until a point where we live each day routinely, without even knowing what ourselves are really doing. We may feel lost at some points in our life, we may start wondering whether we are doing things correctly, we may even suspect our very own decisions and maybe regretting it. When we talk to people, our daily conversations are mostly about list of all the upcoming tasks which may be overwhelming, bits and pieces in life which we are unsatisfied with, scars on our body which we can't get rid of, and how we always perceive ourselves as an ordinary, normal, simple girl.

Many a times, when I ask people around me, what's the main concern you want to improve about yourself? They will tell me is their appearances, their body figures and self confidence, even if some of them are really beautiful inside and outside. It makes me start wondering, why are people always being unsatisfied with their own appearance and caring way too much on how the world is looking at them. We always seek to improve ourselves so that we look better in other people's eyes. We always perceive that we look bad or not as good as others in other people's opinions.

Now, I want to ask all of you and I want you be honest to yourself,
do you really think you are that ordinary, normal and that you can't find a single good thing about yourself?

We are beautiful and we shine with our own rays.

Each of us are beautiful in our own way. We are special and unique. God created us with different facial features and with different characters so that we can shine with our own rays. Very often, we perceive the world looking at us too negatively and we care too much about how we look in other people's eyes. Our eyes can only see other people's good and beauty and yet we can't see the beauty in ourselves which other people see within us.

Let me challenge you now. Close your eyes and imagine looking at your yourself in your mind. Speak gently and sincerely to yourself that "I am beautiful. I am beautiful in my own way. I love myself very much and I will be responsible for my own life". Repeat this until you feel comfortable with it. I encourage you to wake up every morning, looking into the mirror and say this to yourself with a smile, "Good morning to the beautiful me! Today is going to be a beautiful day". This can be really powerful to keep your thoughts positive and I guarantee you it will bring such a great impact to help you stay genuinely happy in your everyday life.

This is a really meaningful quote by Mahatma Gandhi:

“Carefully watch your thoughts, for they become your words. Manage and watch your words, for they will become your actions. Consider and judge your actions, for they have become your habits. Acknowledge and watch your habits, for they shall become your values. Understand and embrace your values, for they become your destiny.”

It all start with a positive thoughts to find the beauty within us and to find happiness in life. Let me show you this video by Dove. This is a very meaningful and amazing video to show what we think about ourselves and how we think the way the world is looking at us can be so different with what the reality is. I hope you will take just 7 minutes to watch this video and give yourself some time to think about it.

Finding happiness in life and seeking ways to look more beautiful can be really simple and easy. Once you start with a positive attitude and mindset, you are already 50% through the journey. The rest is to learn how to see the beauty within yourself and build up your inner beauty with knowledge and values.

I wish all of you to be happier in life and be more beautiful in your own ways!

Much love,
Jessica
